Elke Lathouwers

CURRENT (AND PREVIOUS) FUNCTION: Elke Lathouwers is a PhD student at the Human Physiology and Sports Physiotherapy research group. She graduated as a Master of Science in rehabilitation sciences and sports physiotherapy in 2021 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

RESEARCH AREA: Elke's research is framed within the research line exploring human-robot interaction. She focuses on the evaluation of prostheses in people with a lower limb amputation through physiological, biomechanical and psychological measurements. The results of those measurements will be used in the further development process of the prostheses to  enhance prosthetic functioning.
