On October 14th and 15th, 2022, the ReFORM community proudly presented its second symposium “injury prevention in sport”. The event was held in close partnership with the Luxembourgish sports medicine community and the Amsterdam Collaboration on Health and Safety in Sports (ACHSS).
On the first day, a series of practical workshops and lectures were held at the brand-new biomechanical centre, “Sportfabrik”, managed by the Luxembourg Institute for High Performance in Sport (LIHPS) and the Luxembourg Institute of Research in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Science (LIROMS) in Differdange. Some of these lectures were given by references in the injury prevention community: Lars Engebretsen, Roald Bahr, Evert Verhagen... However, also MFYS was represented during this symposium. Alexandre Maricot held a workshop entitled: “Exercise and the brain evidenced by electroencephalography (EEG)”.
This workshop aimed to showcase how EEG could be used during exercise and which information could be extracted from EEG data. Alexandre briefly demonstrated the EEG equipment and eye-tracking software during a table tennis-specific neurocognitive task with the help of two of our Honourscollege students: Emilie Schampheleer and Hortense Corluy.
