CURRENT (AND PREVIOUS) FUNCTION: Doctor in medicine, surgery and obstetrics KUL 1989, accredited general practitioner 1991, specialised studies in sports medicine VUB 1999.

Ecg and spirometry certificate, further training in Cyriax and manual medicine.

Active as a sports physician at BLITS since 2000.


- Sports medical fitness examination as a means to prevent illness and injury in all kinds of sports and athletes. A diversified approach of this sportmedical research according to the VASO-protocol (Flemish Recommendation for Sportmedical Research) makes it possible to give specific advice to athletes.

- Training advice based on various types of exercise tests at all levels of athletes.

- Diagnostics of overtraining using the TopTest or Training Optimization Test, a combination of a double maximum exercise test, hormonal and psychological testing, sports psychological interview and a holistic view on the athlete.

- Diabetes and sport: what is the influence of sport on diabetes and of diabetes on sport? Diabetes won't stop us' is the leitmotiv with which people with diabetes can achieve the same performance as people without diabetes, provided they are properly prepared and controlled.
