Danusa Soares Dias
Biography
Graduated in Physical Education from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil (1987), Master's degree in Physical Education from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1993), PhD in Biological Sciences (Physiology and Pharmacology) from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2004), and completed a doctoral internship at INSERM-U471-Institut National de la Santé et de la recherche medicae in Bordeaux, France. Senior Internship (Post-doctoral) with a CAPES scholarship at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB) in Brussels, Belgium (2014/2015). Danusa is since December 2012, a Full Professor of Exercise Physiology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais where she is working on the following topics: metabolism, exercise and chronic diseases (with a focus on obesity and diabetes), neurotransmission in exercise, cognition, neurotrophins and exercise, fatigue and thermoregulation, training and physical activity, and health.
