Eligia Alfio

After my bachelor studies in Computer Engineering at Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy), I had the occasion to study both in France, at the École Centrale de Nantes, and in Japan, at the Keio university, obtaining a double master's degree in Advanced Robotics thanks to the JEMARO program (Japan-Europe Master on Advanced Robotics). 
Currently I am carrying out my doctoral research at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where I focus on improving methods of customization for robotic prostheses controllers through Human-in-the-loop Optimization. This project - OPTIMA (Optimizing Prosthesis Controllers Tuning for Individualized Mobility Assistance) - has been awarded by the FWO for 4 years and is under the supervision of Prof. dr. K. Depauw of MFYS.
